Introducing the Spring 2025 CSA
Our CSA Begins in April 2025.
Here’s what to expect and info on whether or not a CSA is right for your household.
Note: all of our spaces for our 2025 Spring CSA membership and Solidarity Shares have been claimed! We are not accepting any CSA members at this time. Please check back in during early summer in June!
Community Supported Agriculture (CSA)
The Hot Spell CSA period runs approximately 12 weeks from April to June. We will reach out a week in advance of the exact start date of when you can expect your first box pick up.
Why Buy: a CSA is all about the name: Community Supported Agriculture. Each dollar put towards a subcription or a box is an investment to sustain farming futures and communities built around a small, local food economy. Not to mention the benefits of fresh, no-spray produced delivered straight into your neighborhood.
Here is what’s included:
Each box will contain an average of 6-8 vegetable per week. Throughout the season, we’ll occasionally offer add-ons like flowers and local value-added items (pickles, bread, eggs, etc.). Each veggie box will look different from week to week, but we may repeat certain crop staples like onions or carrots over a season.
The weekly veggie box is big enough to feed 1-3 people. Depending on how many vegetables you eat each week, its great for sharing.
Our veggie boxes are not customizable – we make sure to give everyone the best from our field each week. Some things you can look forward to in our boxes include things like little gems, salad mixes (arugula, spinach, mustards), fennel, bok choy, cauliflower, Asian eggplant, peppers, tomatoes, carrots, radishes, and occasional specialty food items from other farms and small local businesses.

Reserved for those who: are unable to afford the full CSA price, a member of a marginalized community, those who are unemployed, those with limited expendable income and of lack access to healthy food on a day to day basis.
How it Works
The Hot Spell CSA period runs approximately 12 weeks. Payment for your CSA will be charged 4 weeks at a time – which means there are approximately 3 monthly payment cycles per CSA season. We know things come up, so a 4-week billing system allows you the opportunity to pay less upfront for an entire CSA season and can allow you to take time off from the subscription if needed.
Your CSA subscription auto renews monthly for the entirety of the 12-week season unless you pause or cancel it.
Add on’s:
Flowers: At certain times of the season, we have bouquet offerings from flowers in the field. These can be added on to your monthly subscription fee, and you can choose how many weeks out of the month (up to four) you’d like to receive flowers with your box.
Solidarity Shares: Paying members have the option of tacking on a small fee to their monthly CSA subscription to directly support our solidarity shares. A solidarity share covers the entire cost of a CSA box, free of charge for someone in the community who needs/wants access to fresh vegetables but can not otherwise afford it.
Picking Up
Our partners will not refrigerate our boxes, but they will be kept inside out of the sun. The sooner you get your vegetables into the refrigerator, the higher their quality and shelf life will be.
Your box will be labeled with your name at the location you choose at the day and time we specify above. We ask that please leave us the boxes to reuse or to return them at the following week’s pick up.
We’ll leave instructions on where to leave them at your pickup site – boxes should be organized courteously for our pickup site hosts and staff!
A note on missed pickups: By committing to a 4-week share of our CSA, you’re also committing to a responsibility to pick up your box each week. You can ask a neighbor or friend to pick up for you, no questions asked, but if you miss your pick-up window, we cannot provide you a replacement box. After the pickup window ends at your location for the day, we offer the boxes to staff or will take boxes to nearby free fridges.
